Shift in the 6ix

If you want to know the ins-and-outs of working in the 6IX (a.k.a Toronto, ON), you’ve come to the right place!

My journey at Shift Digital Canada began in May of 2019 as employee number eight. While our small team has different priorities and projects, we are always eager and willing to help one another out. Right away, I knew that I was going to enjoy the culture and dynamic of this company. 

We currently utilize a WeWork office space which has been transformed into our own by keeping the traditional Shift colors to stay true to our roots – queue orange rug. 😉 WeWork really knows how to keep the culture strong for Shift in the 6ix. They have weekly events and parties that make it easy for all of us to unwind after a long day. Most recently, there was an office door decorating contest.

In combination with the WeWork events, Shift remains unique and plans our own monthly team outings. Our first event was axe throwing downtown Toronto; next we ventured over to Mysterious Minds where we conquered an escape room. In true Shift fashion, to close out the year, we of course had to host an office Holiday Party, Canadian style! We created specialty drinks for our company Moscow Mule mugs and took the team to Chotto Matte for a lovely dinner.  We then kicked off 2020 with a team outing to the Toronto Auto Show and Puppy Yoga!

Shifting in the 6ix is made easy when you work with our small, yet amazing, team.  We have created an environment to thrive in and reward ourselves often. I love “shifting” my way through new challenges and “digitally” creating platforms for Canadians to connect.

Fun Fact: The Toronto Office is now 11 Employees as of May!
